Father Ho Lung--Joining Christ on the Cross

This is taking the Gospel at its most literal, and acting directly on the exhortations of Christ. Father Ho Lung left the Jesuit order, where he was leading an academic career teaching after a crisis which caused him to reexamine his life. He founded the Missionaries of the Poor in Jamaica. He could not continue living as a professor, he said, while there was so much poverty and suffering surrounding him. Young men, and now women, are flocking from all over the world to join him in this most grueling work, confronting the worst of human suffering.  Why?  If you watch the video you'll see why these people "want to join Christ on the Cross." Governments cannot do what these guys do.
